ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey

The ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey is a survey that is prepared to a set standard for the purpose of supplying your title company or lender with the data necessary for the issuance of a title commitment or mortgage insurance. This survey will provide data related to the location of the physical improvements located on or immediately adjacent to the property, encumbrances and the identification of any encroachments. Optional survey responsibilities and specifications for the ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey are listed on Table A of the requirements.

The standards are jointly developed and adopted by the American Land Title Association (ALTA) and the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS). The current Minimum Standard Detail Requirements for ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys came into effect on February 23, 2016.
